For these past few days, I have been attending intensive mpu classes, or more widely known as Malaysian Study Lessons. We were given a few assignments , comprises of group discussion and also individual tasks. To be honest, it was really tiring as we had classes until 3pm and were given only half an hour before we continued with our mpu lesson. However, I would say that it turned out to be quite fun and entertaining. Unlike normal classes, I got to befriend with new people from other groups and managed to learn some new stuff. Example, the buddies learning style project had given me a chance to make friends like Jack and Shin Yi. Besides, the career test is a perfect platform for me to discover my own personality and the possible career pathways lying ahead of me. It has indeed given me a new insight and made me understand myself even better.
I wouldn't say it is a "must " , but I would like to suggest that maybe the MPU lesson duration can be shorten as 2 hours is quite lengthy for a normal student without a break. Furthermore, more group discussions can be arranged so we can interact with other students more often. However, overall the whole lesson is quite enjoyable.
Special thanks to Ms Shafinaz for her patience and guidance throughout these few days . Her commitment in teaching the students and also her effort in making the so called "boring " Malaysian Study lesson more lively are truly respectable.

My Reflection
VOLUNTEER WORK THAT HAS GIVEN
ME A NEW INSIGHT.
Description
Having a strong
adoration for kids, I have involved myself in a sport day for orphans organized
by WACKY on 20th of September 14, which is known as ASOL( a sport of love ).
This event was aimed to provide an opportunity for the orphans to experience
the atmosphere of a sport day and also to open up a platform for the college
students to gain experience in taking care of small children. Having heard
about the recruitment of the committee members for that event,I signed up
without any hesitation. As a part of the
security team, my job was to take care of the children's safety throughout the
event.
Interpret
I am the youngest
child of my family so I have always wanted a little brother or sister as I grow
older. Signing up for this event was mainly due to my passion in taking care of
small children and partly due to my heart of doing community service. Young children are always labeled
as the pain in the neck or the annoyance one in the family. However, after
participating in this event, I have noticed that a good way of communication
could actually build a strong relationship between you and the child. We woke
up at 5.30 am to reach UCSI international school to have all the preparation done.
After all, I felt that the sacrifice of my sleep worth at the end.
Evaluation
The most
memorable part of it was the interaction with one of the orphans from Rumah
Aman, whose name is Aiman. At the age of 6, his thinking was so mature which
had indeed taken me aback. He told me that life still goes on without his
parents and he believed in the bright future ahead of him with his family from
Rumah Aman. That short but fruitful conversation with a young child like him
made me feel ashamed of myself when I felt like giving up during my hectic life
as an A'Level student.
Plan
As my mother
is a primary tuition teacher, I was provided lots of opportunity to interact
with young kids. Nevertheless, it was my first time to communicate with
orphans. The difference was actually I had to think more carefully before
establishing a conversation with them. Thus, to reticulate this problem, I am
actually planning to visit more orphanages in the future.

My inspiration
I find this quote intriguing because after endless quantities of watching this series, "Suits", I learned that in this world, there are a lot of people that not are not risk-takers. They are afraid of big things in life. They are unconfident of themselves to achieve dreams and goals in life. On the other hand, people who are risk-takers do not think about the negative part of life, neither do they afraid of parts and parcels of life. They think big and dream big to achieve it.
This quote is from a piece of music that proves to people that revenge is not necessary. When a person hurts or criticizes you, you do not need to resort to violence , neither do you need to seek for revenge. The thing in life for an individual to prove to that somebody that brings them down is to build up themselves. For example, when a person brags about their ability to do well in a certain activity towards you, just let them be. All you have to do is to focus on yourself and be successful in life. Then, people will start noticing you for your determined achievement.
This quote reflects me about working in certain group. Working in a group requires a lot of teamwork, creative ideas and brainstormings. A black sheep in a group will not only bring down the ability of the group to excel but also decreases their performance . This quote tells me that a person who does not contribute in the group will end up failing in the future. This is due to the fact that a quiet and uncommitted group member will not learn anything. Therefore, they will have a hard time working with others in time to come.
Career and University Action Plan
I have
taken a career test on Sunday afternoon. The results are shown as below :

My ambition is actually to become an
established lawyer in the future. The result above shown was not that accurate
but it actually reflected my personality truthfully. I am a talkative and
outspoken girl as I like to communicate with others once I am placed in a
social ring. Apart from the endless talking, I am used to listen to other
people problems as well. This will probably explain the result of the career
psychologist appearing as one of my career choices.
Speaking about my future plan, I am planning to further
my study in law degree in United Kingdom if I were to be offered a place in the one of the universities. In the final year of my degree, I will probably take up criminal law, corporate
law and some other modules to specialize in. My ultimate interest in reading criminal
cases and fictions have once influenced me to further my study in criminology or
as a criminal psychologist. However, due to safety concern, I have changed my
ambition to become a lawyer as it is also quite similar to what I wanted to do
initially.

Buddies' Learning Style
My group is made up of 6 members who are from Group 1, 6 and 7. Starting from the left are Yeun Hui, Shin Yi, Jack , Shen Ey, Sarah and Me ( white adidas shirt ). Sarah and I are both auditory learners, Yeun Hui is a visual learner, Shen Ey is an auditory and kinesthatic learner while Shin Yi and Jack are all rounders, but more towards to visual and auditory learners. Within the stipulated time frame, we got to understand the different styles of learning of different people around us besides making new friends which we would hardly be able to do in our hectic A'Level life.
